Every command accepts --json. Multi-step flows stream NDJSON events — meta.env, tx.preview, tx.signed, tx.submitted, complete. Ask your Claude Code, Codex, or OpenClaw to use it directly.

Keys never leave your machine

owlp wallet create generates a 12-word mnemonic locally. owlp send builds the tx server-side, signs with ethers / stellar / tweetnacl on your box, and only ships the signed transaction. The API never sees a private key.

Your agent learns owlp on install

owlp ships with a built-in skill. Install the CLI once — Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, and the like read it and know every command, flag, and NDJSON event. No fumbling around on its own.

Browser only when it has to

Only login and KYC open a browser — your agent knows what to do. Everything else — create, send, track, verify — stays in the terminal, and your agent knows how to handle it.

Q2Can I use owlp-cli in Claude Desktop or only in Claude Code?: Claude Desktop's Chat and Cowork modes cannot install owlp-cli — you need Claude Code. Claude Code CLI (the terminal version) has the best support. Claude Code inside the desktop app also works, but the CLI gives you full control and is the recommended setup for agents.
Q3Does owlp-cli work with ChatGPT or Codex?: ChatGPT and ChatGPT Desktop cannot use owlp-cli — they don't run shell commands. Codex Desktop and Codex CLI both work. Any AI agent that can execute terminal commands can use owlp-cli through the skill file.
Q4My agent did not finish setup in one go. Should I install the skill first or run onboard first?: Install the skill first. The skill file tells the agent what commands are available and how to use them. Without it, the agent will not know that owlp onboard exists. After the skill is installed, the agent can run owlp onboard to complete account setup, wallet creation, and KYC.

Q5Where are my private keys stored? Is it safe?: Private keys are stored locally on your machine in ~/.owlpay-wallet-pro/ and never leave the device. Transactions are signed client-side — the API only receives signed transactions, never raw keys or mnemonics. Make sure to keep your device secure — anyone with access to your machine can access your keys.
Q6Which blockchains and tokens are supported?: Ethereum, Stellar, and Solana are live today. More EVM chains — Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche — are coming soon. Supported stablecoins: USDC.

How much balance do I have in my wallet?
Q7What is the relationship between owlp-cli and the Wallet Pro mobile app?: They share the same backend and wallet infrastructure. The mobile app (iOS and Android) is the full-featured mobile wallet. owlp-cli is the terminal and agent interface to the same account. Transactions made by your agent show up on your phone with real-time push notifications. As long as you use the same SSO account and wallet, everything stays in sync.
Q8Do I need to complete KYC?: For sending and receiving crypto: no KYC required. For fiat deposit (debit card), cross-chain bridge, and fiat withdrawal: KYC is required by regulation. Your agent will guide you through the KYC process when needed.
Q9Who can use debit card deposit?: Debit card deposit (VDC) is currently available to US residents with a US-issued debit card only. Support for more regions is planned for future releases.
Q10Is owlp-cli open source?: The CLI binary is closed-source. The agent skill file, documentation, and issue tracker are public on GitHub at OwlTing/owlpay-wallet-pro-cli. This gives agents everything they need to operate the tool while protecting the core implementation.
Q11How are fees calculated?: Crypto transfers: network gas fees only (sponsored on Stellar). Fiat deposit/withdrawal: fees vary by method and are shown in the quote before you confirm. No hidden charges — owlp quote shows the exact breakdown before any transaction.
Q12Can my agent pay for things on its own — like API access or a checkout link?: Yes. owlp pay settles any x402-gated resource or OwlPay checkout link in USDC. The payment authorization is signed locally on your machine (EIP-3009) and a facilitator broadcasts it and covers the gas — your wallet only needs USDC. Set a --max-amount ceiling so an agent can never overspend. Standard x402 endpoints need no login or KYC; only OwlPay checkout links require KYC. USDC on EVM chains today.
